Paint by Numbers
When painting by numbers, image size, level of detail, number of colors and quality of the surface determine how much time and precision a set requires.
Compare image, surface and content
Large areas of color are more accessible, while many small areas require more concentration and a fine brush tip. Check that the kit includes a canvas or panel, matching brushes, numbered paints and a clear sample image. Also pay attention to the final size and the way in which the work can be hung.
Work in thin layers and check details
Keep paint pots closed while working and check the number before starting a new area. Apply two thin coats rather than one thick coat and thin only when instructions allow. Clean brushes in between, let parts dry completely and only use varnish if it is suitable for the supplied paint and surface.
