Pressure rollers and hand tools ensure an even ink film, controlled pressure and safe processing of lino, soft plates and other printing forms.

Roller width, rubber and handle

A narrow roller is agile for small plates; a wider roller distributes ink faster but requires flat preparation. Soft rubber follows light structure, while harder rubber can keep fine details sharp. Check that the roller runs freely and has no flat spots, damage or play.

Roll in evenly and work cleanly

First roll out ink on a separate plate and rotate the roller between passes so that the entire surface is covered. Place cutting tools away from you, use a hand guard or bench hook and keep fingers away from the cutting direction. Clean rollers immediately without leaving them in solvent for a long time.
