DECOLA glass and ceramic paint sets

Colour for glass and ceramics

Use DECOLA water-based acrylic paint for blocks of colour, ornaments and small motifs on decorative glass or ceramic objects. You receive one chosen set. The larger colour sets give you more ready-mixed shades; the five-colour kit adds liners and diluent for raised outlines and more transparent colour.

Choose your set

• 6 × 20 ml: white (104), yellow (213), red (331), emerald green (720), dark blue (517), black (810).
• 9 × 20 ml: white (104), yellow (213), light pink (335), red (331), light green (717), emerald green (720), dark blue (517), brown (419), black (810).
• 12 × 20 ml: white (104), yellow (213), orange (315), light pink (335), red (331), light green (717), emerald green (720), cerulean blue (512), dark blue (517), light purple (605), brown (419), black (810).
• 5 × 20 ml: white, yellow, red, light green and dark blue, plus gold and silver liners, 18 ml each, and 20 ml of special diluent.

The 6, 9 and 12 colour sets contain 120, 180 and 240 ml of paint respectively. The liner kit contains 100 ml of paint, two 18 ml liner tubes and 20 ml of special diluent. Choose a brush separately.

Painting and drying

Remove dust and thoroughly degrease the surface. When building several layers, work from light to dark colours and allow 12 hours between paint layers. Leave the finished decoration to air dry for 72 hours. Wash brushes and tools with water immediately and close jars tightly.

Use the special DECOLA glass and ceramic paint diluent to make the colour more transparent. Do not thin the paint with water: this reduces its resistance to washing. With the liner kit, draw lines or dots first and let them dry for 3 hours before filling the colour areas.

Try colour and transparency

On a spare piece of the same glass, paint two small patches: one undiluted and one with the special diluent. Record the ratio and number of layers. After drying, compare how much light passes through each patch with light behind the glass before painting a larger motif.

Safe use

After drying, wash the decorated object gently with warm water, without abrasion or hard rubbing. Do not use the paint on objects that come into contact with food. Follow the pack instructions; wash any paint off skin with water.
