Pébéo Studio Acrylics white gesso, 250 ml or 1 l

Start your painting on a white, slightly matt ground. Pébéo Studio Acrylics gesso prepares canvas, cardboard and wood and improves the adhesion of acrylic and oil paint layers. Choose one 250 ml tube or one 1 l jar.

White as a starting point

The white ground helps create a fresh starting point on a coloured or unprepared surface. Choose this gesso when you want a white base; it is not a transparent ground that shows the original colour. Studio gesso is a painting ground, not a protective finishing varnish.

Choose a tube or jar

The 250 ml tube is useful for dispensing a small amount at a time. The 1 l jar suits preparing larger or several painting surfaces. Both choices are white gesso; the choice concerns capacity and packaging rather than a different colour. Choose your brushes and painting surfaces separately.

Prepare your surface

Clean and degrease the surface and work on a flat support. Spread the gesso evenly with a suitable brush, avoiding thick accumulations. Let the coat dry before painting. Assess coverage and texture on a sample and add another coat if needed. On an already primed surface, check the existing finish and adhesion first; an oil ground needs different preparation from untreated canvas.

Safe use

For the 1 l jar: contains BIT and CMIT/MIT. May produce an allergic reaction. Follow the label’s safety directions for both formats and dispose of leftovers and packaging according to local regulations.
