Small photographs, the right size
A small print can go into a photo album, become a separate gift print or help you compare different images. Check your photograph’s aspect ratio and decide whether to crop it or retain a white border. Also check that your printer accepts this small format, 260 gsm and 260 µm; a large maximum paper size does not establish suitable small-paper feeding.
What does the metallic finish do?
The glossy metallic finish gives highlights and reflective subjects a distinctive appearance. Ilford identifies portraits, studio photographs, architecture and mechanical subjects as applications. Choose this finish when reflections can be part of the presentation; matt paper is an alternative for a quieter, non-reflective surface. The effect also depends on your photograph and the light in which you view the print.
Will your printer accept this paper?
This is resin-coated inkjet photo paper for aqueous dye and pigment inks. Check that your printer supports the selected sheet size and 260 gsm paper with a specified thickness of 260 µm. The correct ink type alone does not establish that the paper feed is suitable. It is not laser paper or darkroom photographic paper. The photographic coating is intended for printing on one side.
Preparing a useful test print
Start with a test containing skin tones, a bright area and dark details from your own image. Use appropriate coated glossy inkjet-paper settings and, where available, a profile for your exact printer, ink and paper combination. Check the crop in print preview: automatic fitting can remove edges. Handle sheets by their edges and follow the printer instructions for feeding and handling prints.
