Why choose A4 in a 50-sheet pack?
A4 works well for individual portfolio pages, calendar pages and album layouts. A pack of 50 sheets is useful for keeping a multi-page project in one finish. Allow space for holes or binding when planning a bound album. Check your printer’s unprintable margins too: an A4 sheet does not automatically produce a borderless A4 print.
Double-sided matt: what does Duo mean?
Both sides have a smooth, bright-white matt coating for photographs and text. Print an image on the front and a caption or another image on the back. Ilford specifies 98% opacity; a dark reverse side can still show through in some conditions. Test a double-sided layout first and check alignment.
Check your inkjet printer
This paper is designed for inkjet printers using aqueous dye or pigment inks. Check your printer’s maximum sheet size, supported thickness and paper path. The specified thickness is 235 µm. A suitable ink type alone does not confirm that your printer accepts these sheets. Double-sided printable does not mean that automatic duplex feeding is supported.
Making your first print
Select a suitable coated matt inkjet-paper setting and use an Ilford ICC profile for your printer, ink and paper combination where available. Test skin tones, shadow detail and text first. Ilford describes the coating as instant dry, but follow your printer’s instructions before printing the reverse side. Handle sheets by their edges and store paper and prints carefully to help prevent scratches.
