Which photo paper is this?
Smooth Gloss is bright-white glossy inkjet photo paper with a resin-coated RC base. Choose it for photographs and reproductions when you want a smooth, glossy finish. It is not matt cotton paper, transparency film or light-sensitive cyanotype paper. The technical sheet lists optical brighteners and specifies that the paper is not acid-free.
Will it work with your printer?
The coating supports aqueous dye and pigment inks. Your printer must also handle roll media 111.8 cm wide, 310 gsm and 310 µm thick. Check the roll holder, core diameter, maximum roll diameter and maximum print length in your printer manual. The core diameter of this version is not confirmed. Suitable ink alone does not establish compatibility. A sheet-only printer cannot use this roll.
Set the roll width, print length and margins. Choose an appropriate glossy RC photo-paper setting and, where available, an ICC profile for your printer, ink and paper. Print a small test section before producing a long image. Check whether your printer’s automatic cutter is permitted for this paper; otherwise follow the instructions for separate cutting.
Test printing and storage
Make a test print to assess cropping, margins and colour before printing your series. Ilford describes the surface as instantly touch-dry; this does not guarantee resistance to scratches, moisture or marks. Follow the ink manufacturer’s drying instructions before stacking or finishing prints. Handle sheets by their edges and store paper in its original packaging, dry and away from direct sunlight.
