Choose this 43.2 cm × 27 m roll of Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss for photographs whose print length you want to control, such as panoramas or a continuous series of images. You receive one roll, not loose sheets. Allow for trimming margins and the paper used by your printer during loading when planning your prints.
Which photo paper is this?
Smooth Gloss is bright-white glossy inkjet photo paper with a resin-coated RC base. Choose it for photographs and reproductions when you want a smooth, glossy finish. It is not matt cotton paper, transparency film or light-sensitive cyanotype paper. The technical sheet lists optical brighteners and specifies that the paper is not acid-free.
Will it work with your printer?
The coating is designed for inkjet systems using aqueous dye or pigment inks. Check the printer manual for supported paper thickness, weight and the appropriate feed path. Use suitable media settings and, where available, an ICC profile for your printer, ink and paper combination. The term inkjet does not establish compatibility with every printer.
Use a roll-fed printer that accepts 43.2 cm-wide paper at this thickness. Check the roll holder and core fit as well; the core diameter is not confirmed here.
Test printing and storage
Make a test print to assess cropping, margins and colour before printing your series. Ilford describes the surface as instantly touch-dry; this does not guarantee resistance to scratches, moisture or marks. Follow the ink manufacturer’s drying instructions before stacking or finishing prints. Handle sheets by their edges and store paper in its original packaging, dry and away from direct sunlight.
