Clairefontaine Goldline Aquapad is natural-white 300 gsm watercolour paper for painting and your own cyanotype trials. Made from 100% cellulose, it is acid-free and pH-neutral, with a medium-fine cold-pressed texture. Choose A4 with 50 sheets, A5 with 70 sheets or A6 with 50 sheets.
Which pad suits your project?
A4 gives you room for a larger composition or photographic negative. A5 is a middle size for studies and botanical prints; A6 suits small images and material tests. The pads contain untreated paper, not sheets already made light-sensitive. You apply the cyanotype solution yourself.
Paper for watercolour and cyanotype
The texture gives watercolours and blueprints a visible paper surface. The grain is more pronounced on one side; compare both sides on a test piece before making an important print. This is cellulose paper, not cotton paper. 300 gsm means the weight per square metre, not sheet thickness. It does not prevent paper from cockling during wet work.
Coating, testing and rinsing
Follow your cyanotype solution instructions. Apply a thin, even coat to a clean test piece in subdued light and let it dry completely in darkness. Make a test exposure with your own light source, negative or leaves, then rinse according to your process instructions. Assess colour and detail after drying. Paper surface, coating and exposure all affect the result; the pad cannot guarantee a fixed exposure time or a perfect print.
