Cyanotype Refill Kit, 200 ml or 500 ml

Already have brushes, paper and mixing equipment? The Cyanoprints Cyanotype Refill Kit supplies the chemistry for your next blueprints. It contains two separate powdered components. Prepare the solutions with water as directed on the packaging, then mix only what you need just before coating.

What is included?

• Two bottles containing the cyanotype components: potassium ferricyanide and green ferric ammonium citrate.
• English preparation and use instructions on the packaging.
• A choice of the 200 ml or 500 ml version.

Paper, brushes, a measuring cup and a contact plate are separate purchases. The millilitre designation refers to the prepared solution; the kit supplies chemicals that you prepare with water yourself.

Paper, botanical prints and fabric

Make leaf and flower silhouettes or contact prints from a digital negative. Use absorbent, uncoated paper, or test on prewashed cotton or linen. Coating, drying, the surface and UV exposure affect the result. Try a small piece before making a whole series.

Choose a size for your project

200 ml is the smaller version; 500 ml provides more for larger surfaces or repeated sessions. Print yield depends on image size, surface absorbency and coating thickness. A fixed number of A4 prints cannot be promised.

From solution to blueprint

Prepare and store the two components separately as directed on the label. Mix equal parts of the prepared solutions shortly before use. Apply an even coat, dry it in the dark, expose your design and rinse according to the instructions. Wear the specified protection and protect your work surface. A test strip helps establish exposure.

Add only the materials you need

Clairefontaine Aquapad paper provides a paper surface. For photographic designs, use A4 inkjet transparencies; a plexiglass contact plate holds the negative flat against the paper. Starting without equipment? Consider the Cyanotype Starter Kit.
