A4 inkjet transparencies for cyanotype, 50 sheets

Turn a photograph, illustration or text into a negative for a cyanotype contact print. This pack contains 50 transparent A4 sheets for inkjet printing. Print your design on the film, then place it against your prepared paper during UV exposure. Dark areas of the negative block more light than light areas.

Check your printer and settings

Check your printer manual for support for transparent inkjet film. A4 describes the sheet size; it does not guarantee compatibility with every printer. Use the specified printable side and the feed and media settings suitable for your printer and film. Let the ink dry before handling the negative or placing it on the paper.

Start with a small test print

The result depends on your printer, ink, file and exposure. Print a small test image with light and dark areas first. Use it for a test cyanotype before printing a whole series, then adjust your negative or exposure. A dark image on screen does not by itself establish how well the printed negative blocks UV.

What else do you need?

You need a compatible inkjet printer and ink, cyanotype chemistry and a suitable surface such as absorbent paper. A contact plate helps hold the negative flat against the paper during exposure. This pack contains the transparencies; chemistry, paper and a contact plate are separate purchases.
