Cyanotype negative generator

Turn a photograph into a printable digital negative for cyanotype. Your image stays in this browser and is not uploaded to Cyanoprints.

How to use the negative

  1. Start with Digital negative. Use Grayscale only to judge tones, or Threshold for graphic black-and-white artwork.
  2. Mirror when the printed side of the film will face the coated paper and orientation matters, for example with text.
  3. Print on the coated side of inkjet transparency at 100% scale and high quality. Disable automatic photo correction.
  4. Let the ink dry, place it ink-side down against dry cyanotype paper and make a small exposure test first.
